Step 1: Review the product.

By the way, joining an affiliate program should never cost you a penny. If it does, it’s not an affiliate site, it’s a sales program. So beware of any program that wants you to pay a fee up front.

Step 3: Send out the email.

Notice the format of the email – one action to take and 3 links to the site. That’s been proven repeatedly to bring the best results when promoting via email.

It’s always a good idea to customize the email, adding details from your perspective.

If you reviewed the website, you can add a few sentences about what caught your attention.

Don’t spend too long trying to customize it. It’s most important to actually send the email! Too often we try to get it perfect and never get it sent, so don’t fall into that trap.

And that’s it! The simple 3-step process to Affiliate Success. Of course there will be a LOT more on the webinar, but I wanted to give you this simple action step so that you can get started on your profitable week.

Here’s how it works.

You have an affiliate program that you want to promote. While you could use the long, ugly affiliate link, it’s much better to use a “cloaked” or disguised link. Not only does it look better and fit better into an email, but it is less likely to be “hijacked” by someone who replaces your affiliate ID with theirs.

Cloaked links are fine for online promotions. After all, someone is just clicking on them, so they don’t need to be easy to read or pronounce.

However, you sometimes have affiliate links that you promote when you speak in front of an audience or on a teleseminar or webinar. When this is the case, you want the link to be easy to say and easy to remember. That’s when you want to use a domain redirect.

You first purchase a domain that you can remember easily and that can be readily understood by your listeners. Plus it needs to relate to the topic of the link. For example, I recently purchased MySecretCopywriter.com to point to a copywriter who will write $97 sales letters. Now that’s a secret!

Next you log into your domain registrar and choose to forward the domain name. Now you have a choice of a 301 or a 302 redirect. A 302 redirect is a temporary change. You might use it if you’re building a new site and want to temporarily send traffic somewhere else in the meantime.

The 301 redirect is considered “permanent” and tells the search engines to go to the site from now on. Naturally you can change it. But if the affiliate program is paying well, you probably will keep it. So the 301 redirect should be your choice for a domain redirect.

Regardless of the type of redirect you choose, you also have the option to “mask” your destination. That means that instead of the ugly affiliate URL or the product’s actual site showing in the browser’s address bar, your domain name will show there. The visitor doesn’t know there’s another site behind there. Plus you get to add the page title, keywords and description to the masked domain, which is likely to result in better search engine positioning.

It takes less than a minute to redirect and mask a domain. It may take another 20 to 30 minutes for it to “resolve” across the Internet. So if you’re planning to use one on a live program, plan to make the change at least an hour ahead of time.

You can buy hundreds of ebooks all with different “systems” or strategies and you can find lots of free information as well. Eventually though, you are going to realize that you will need to make some landing pages.

What are landing pages? Landing pages are where you want your visitor to “land” and once there, you hope they click on your link to go to the sellers website where they will then buy the product.

Why not just link directly to the sellers website? Why do you need a landing page at all? Well, it depends on how you are going to get your visitor to the sellers site. A popular way is by writing articles, having them published, and having readers find those articles and click on the links inside them. The problem is that many article sites do not allow direct affiliate marketing links. They will allow links to your website or landing page but not directly to the seller.

You can learn a lot about landing pages by typing in “What are landing pages” in Google. You will find lots of useful information and tips galore on how to make great landing pages. But just like everything else on the Internet, after reading 10 or so different articles, you may be no closer to making one and confused about exactly what you should do.

I believe the best way to get started is by making simple landing pages that pretty much say to the viewer ‘here is the product and here is where you get it”. I don’t do a lot of “pre-selling” on my landing pages and many Internet marketers would disagree with that. The common consensus is that you should warm your visitor up to the sale by reviewing the item and/or telling them how great it is.

The problem with that is that it is difficult to write convincingly about something you know little about. Another problem for beginners is that their writing skills may not be up to par…at least not yet. That is why I recommend setting up something simple at first.

My opinion is that it is my job (or you might say the landing page’s job) to get the visitor to the seller’s website. It is the seller’s job from there to convert the sale. I sort of just open the door for customers to walk through and let the product and shopkeeper do the rest. If they can’t do their job, then I have to at some time move to another product. You might open up a free blog at Blogger and make your site as pretty and color coordinated as you can (some people will obviously be better at this than others) and do a lot of copying and pasting graphics and words from your sellers website. Only use one link to the seller’s website though, as using free blogs for marketing is frowned on and if you overdo it they could suspend you. Ideally you should get your own domain and hosting but that can be done once you start making money.

Basically you are making a big advertisement that says “This is where you get so and so product”. If the people you drive to your blog want that product, then they will click on the link to find out more. Once they do that, you have done your job. Making a landing page is the easy part: getting targeted traffic to your website or blog is much harder. There are many easy ways to make money online and this is only one of them. It might work for you though if you are just starting out.

Nowadays, visitors are getting harder to come by as more and more options are available to them.

Therefore, it is paramount that we, as affiliate marketers are able to convert as many of these visitors into buyers.

After all, by converting more people we don’t have to spend so much time on hunting down more traffic to our sites and can increase our affiliate checks without overloading our bandwidth.

So the question is, what can you do today to increase affiliate commissions from the same amount of website visitors? Luckily, there are quite a few things you can do to increase the chances of a sale and improve your conversions, so let’s take a look…

1. Place your main offer in the top fold of the page

According to numerous tests, having the offer jammed right in the visitor’s face, such as in the header of the page, will increase the chances of a click, and a subsequent sale. Don’t worry about being obnoxious, people should still be able to easily access your content, but will repeatedly see the main offer first on every relevant page (preferably all pages of the same site).

2. Add more affiliate links with persuasive anchor text

It makes sense that the more times you ask for the sale (or just the click) then the more chances it will actually happen. The old adage of “If you don’t ask then you don’t get” always springs to mind here. Listen, it isn’t neccessary to drown your page with links, just put links within the content and not just at the end. Furthermore, refrain from using links that just describe the product name or show the domain of the affiliated site. It’s far better to use anchor text such as “Get relief from your back pain today” than a simple link such as www.amazingwebsiteaboutbackpainrelief.us.uk

3. Create painful, focused content

It is far better to use content that ties in directly with the visitor’s pain and predominant problems. Therefore, the reader will feel more inclined to take action after being presold with your content. For example, you could write an article about the different types of back pain and a few ways to temporarily relieve it, but then provide plenty of affiliate links to the only real solution.

These are just some of the ways you can increase website conversions for affiliate offers, but I admit that they take time and effort to craft and test.

Creating content that presell’s people is a great affiliate marketing model, but by no means the easiest way to make large commissions from affiliate marketing.

Did you know that some of the biggest affiliate marketers online today don’t even need to create content to make affiliate sales? Furthermore, these same marketers are getting several thousand hits to their websites each week purely off the back of other people’s hard work…and most of these marketers don’t even own a domain name!

I do market other programs that are not residual, but I find that these are only one time purchases. You may not see that customer again. However, residual income, which is also called passive income, is better because once you get that customer and the customer is satisfied with the product or service, this will be your customer for as long as they stay subscribed and you get commissions from what they pay monthly over and over again. It is quite similar to an insurance salesman. Once he or she sells that policy, they gain residual income for the lifetime of the customer. This is how you should choose your affiliate product because it will make you want to stay committed and focused in your marketing efforts.

A lot of affiliate product owners do not provide email support, but they provide a log in website that you can go to find marketing materials as well as post a support ticket with any questions or comments. Not all of them do this. So if you are the kind of person that wants to be hand-held, you may want to look into other means of support such as specific niche forums. You can actually go to forums and post your questions and there are always people who are willing to answer them. You will also learn a lot from the forum and get great marketing tips and advice in your online business.

So if you are a newbie affiliate and want to enter the Internet marketplace for the first time, you don’t have to be afraid. There are a lot of willing marketers that want to give back because they have been where you are at right now. The search engine is a good tool for you to search for whatever you need. Assuming you are already into an affiliate program, what would be the next thing you would want to do?

Double, or even triple, your commissions, right?

How do you do that?

Here are some powerful tips on how to boost your marketing affiliate program commissions overnight.

1. Know the best program and products to promote. Obviously, you would want to promote a program that will enable you to achieve the greatest profits in the shortest possible time.

There are several things to consider in choosing such a program. Choose the ones that have a generous commission structure. Have products that fit in with your target audience. And one that has a solid track record of paying their affiliate’s easily and on time. If you cannot seem to increase your investments, dump that program and keep looking for better ones.

If you owned a website you could turn it into an affiliate marketing site just by back linking to various affiliate web sites and having them link to your site in return. Back linking creates a more optimal chance of your site being spotted by search engines and also creates the impression that your website is well renowned and trusted as an affiliate marketing support site. By offering a percentage of whatever profits you make from your affiliate’s referrals, they can benefit from your product without having to put in any effort, and you can benefit from the increase in traffic and potential buyers directed to you from them.

By constructing solid relationships with decent, trustworthy and business minded affiliate marketing associates, you could easily set yourself up with a thriving business brought in by affiliate marketing for a number of different niche markets.

There are three ways in which affiliate web marketing can occur:

1. Pay per click
2. Pay per sale
3. Pay per lead
